The Still Voice of Forest presents a series of ceramic created by Somluk Pantiboon, one of the renowned artists in Thailand. To express his intention, the artist uses exquisite form of seeds collected around the forest near his residence to mold each piece of pottery with care and intricate technique. The variety of seeds bears different characters and unique interpretations transferring through the series in which reflect the parallel ideas of body and soul under the shelter of nature.
Artist Biography
Education:
1974 -1980 Enrolled and Graduated from Northeastern Institute of Technology, Faculty of Industrial Design, in Chiangmai, Thailand
1981-1986 Instructor of UNESCO sponsored poltery & printing projects at Khmer & Laos refugee camps in Thailand
1987-1988 Appentice to Master Potter, Iwao Onuma, Iwate, Japan
1989-1991 Appentice t0 Master Potter, TarouemonNakazato the 13th, Karatsu, Japan
1988 Accepted to the Japan Annual Exhibitin of Art 'NITTEN', held at Tokyo Metropolien Art Museum, Tokyo
1993 Received awaed from the 6th National Ceramics Exhibition, Bangkok
1993 Awarded the 2 th prize from the Asian Arts and Crafts Exhibition held at Fukuoka Municipality Museum, fukuoka, Japan
1995 Award of Merit from the 1 9th Fletcher Chalenge Award Exhibition, Auckland, New Zealand
1997 Recieved Special Award from the 2nd Asian Exhibition of Arts and Crafts, Fukuoka, Japan
2000 Special Awarded from the 5th Asian Exhibition of Arts and Crafts, Fukuoka, Japan
2003 Visiting Artist at the Richmond Art Center of the Loomis Chaffer School, Connecticut, USA
2006 Invited artist as well as judge for the National Ceramics Exhibition, The Silpakorn University Art Gallery
