In This Circumstance, the Only Object of Concern is the Betrayal of the Moon

By using photographic and video art as the mediums, two series of artworks are created to depict Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook’s interpretation of two statements. For the first series, the quotation from a classic novel which is said that "In This Circumstance, the Only Object of Concern is the Betrayal of the Moon" originates the inspiration that transforms the art of language into the language of art. The second series “The Two Planets Series” emphasizes on replaying and exploring the statement “Asian art cannot develop without thorough art criticism from the western” by calling the meeting between Thai farmers/villagers and the world celebrated paintings such as Manet’s Luncheon on the Grass and Van Gogh’s The Midday Sleep.

“ในสถานการณ์เช่นนี้ สิ่งพึงควรใส่ใจคือการทรยศของดวงจันทร์” คือวรรคทองจากงานวรรณกรรมสมัยเก่า ซึ่งเป็นจุดเริ่มร่างของแรงบันดาลใจในการถ่ายทอดภาษาอักษรสู่ภาษาภาพ ผ่านกระบวนการนำเสนอด้วยภาพถ่ายและศิลปะวีดีโอ ผสมผสานกับผลงานอีกรูปลักษณ์หนึ่งที่ชูประเด็นเกี่ยวกับการทวนความหมายในประโยค “การพัฒนาศิลปะเอเชียจำเป็นต้องได้รับคำวิจารณ์ที่แหลมคมจากตะวันตก”โดยการนัดพบระหว่างชาวนาชาวไร่กับศิลปะชิ้นเอกในยุคโมเดิร์นอาร์ต
