Godwin Bradbeer, famous Australian artist brings to us “Portraits in Exile”, the first solo exhibition in Bangkok. Central to this exhibition are several recent works under the thematic title; ‘Imago’ these drawings continue the artist’s preoccupation with the frontal gazing face of an anonymous person, ambiguous in its description in terms of sex, race, age and character.

Artist Biography
Godwin Bradbeer is an Australian artist whose figurative images, especially his large scaled drawings are well known within the contemporary Australian art community. Bradbeer has held over 30 solo exhibitions since the late 1970s, his survey exhibition ‚ Godwin Bradbeer: The Metaphysical Body‚ in 2007 completed a two year tour of 8 regional galleries in the eastern states of Australia. In 1998 Bradbeer won the Dobell Drawing Prize, the nations most prestigious award for drawing and his work is held in most of the nations major institutional collections including the Australian National Gallery, The National Gallery of Victoria, the Art Gallery of N.S.W and the Art Gallery of South Australia. Additionally he has work in many public and private collections internationally. Godwin Bradbeer is Head of Drawing at the RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. ‚ Portraits in Exile‚ in his first solo exhibition in Bangkok.
