OVERLAPPING
Yutt Puektasajatum
Overlapping by Yutt Puektasajatum presents etching and woodcut prints with the idea of overlapping space between the metropolis and the greenery. While the city is expanding, the man-made structures are invading the area the nature is growing. Fallen trees have been transformed into the concrete jungle humans are living in.
Yutt Puektasajatum is an artist and art instructor at Silpakorn University. The overlapping area between the city and verdant wilderness in his artworks explains the beauty from trees through their annual rings. The rectangular forms symbolize residential area in the capital. The artist presents the aesthetic of objects that have changed in accordance with the development of the city with no judgemental eyes. Instead he observes and points out the hidden gems that normal people might fail to see.

Inflorescence
Theekawut Boonvijit and
Warawut Tourawong

Inflorescence is a duo exhibition by artists and art instructors from Silpakorn University displaying two series that are both harmonized and contradict all at the same time. The first artist is Warawut Tourawong presenting Floral Pattern, a series of portraits that appears the models in eccentric clothing and a picture frame without a picture. The concept of the artwork is about the things people value and those they are trying to hide, a contradiction that exists in every detail of a human’s life since normally we have something to keep to ourselves or just want to throw away. The other series Blooming Garden belongs to Theekawut Boonvijit. The paintings, featuring people in the middle of a dreamy flower garden, focus on the subject of freedom of expression and gender equality for those who have the right to think and do what they want, happily.
