ASPIRATION is a collection of art by Thongchai Srisukprasert from the beginning of his career until now. Presenting through a retrospective style, the direction of the show starts from the first mileage around 1981 when the artist employed a realistic approach to his Buddhist art. He then developed his art into the abstract realm that brought him reputation and became his artistic identity ever since. It eventually led to the unraveling of the creation of realistic work, including painting, sculpture, and Buddha image.
Thongchai Srisukprasert was a lecturer at the Department of Thai Arts, Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University. He had taught there for over 26 years before deciding to take a path of freelance artist aiming to devote his time to create art. His work has a clear approach in the form of Dharma art, meaning that there is Dharma in his art and a human nature hidden in the beliefs of Buddhism. Most of his work is meticulous with skillful realistic technique. In addition, symbolic shapes are also the highlight in his art pieces applied to narrate stories and content in the work seamlessly.
