Overlapping by Yutt Puektasajatum presents etching and woodcut prints with the idea of overlapping space between the metropolis and the greenery. While the city is expanding, the man-made structures are invading the area the nature is growing. Fallen trees have been transformed into the concrete jungle humans are living in.
Yutt Puektasajatum is an artist and art instructor at Silpakorn University. The overlapping area between the city and verdant wilderness in his artworks explains the beauty from trees through their annual rings. The rectangular forms symbolize residential area in the capital. The artist presents the aesthetic of objects that have changed in accordance with the development of the city with no judgemental eyes. Instead he observes and points out the hidden gems that normal people might fail to see.
