"Art is (for me) primarily a field of sensual and philosophical considerations. Especially now, in the era of overproduction; reproduction and self-production of images (AI). So the value is not in the image itself but in the individual emotional charge injected into the image, and in the very process of creation."
"Universal Gravitation" is a metaphorical paraphrase of Newton's law of universal gravitation that explores the concept of being "non-gravitational" through visual art. It signifies a detachment that allows individuals to free themselves from both physical and biological constraints. It is achieved through the intaglio process, which includes mezzotint and drypoint techniques. The artist employs lines and abstract forms that evoke a sense of poetry, reflecting human emotions and the ultimate desire to attain true spiritual freedom.
Krzysztof Tomalski is a 62-year-old Polish artist, born in 1963. He graduated from Academia de Arte Frumoase Jan Matejko, the oldest art institute in Kraków, Poland. His work explores the physical composition of elements in the universe and expresses his ideas through imaginative forms. This process involves contemplation, minimization, and re-arrangement, all governed by a unique artistic grammar.
